Huh? He and his former staffers are trying to get progressives elected to public office in an effort to destroy the corporate wing of the Democratic party.
I'm trying to become a billionaire. That doesn't mean I have a very good chance at doing it.

So you're saying it's difficult to fight corporate power and make government more responsive to the interests of ordinary people? Who knew?

In which vein does the Sanders movement have more impact? Does he have more impact as an independent crusader or an insider infiltrator? I think he could have been much more effective in the role of spoiler long term. He could have stretched this thing out to election day and possibly cost Hillary the election.

Of course.

Just trying to prepare for the revolution.

Based on your input (for which I thank you), it sounds like trying to change things will be a pretty big hassle. I think they should just give up.

I'd rather they concentrate on the good things he wants rather than a virtually indescribable revolution.

They are starting by trying to get progressives elected to public office. That seems like a pretty tangible goal.

A half million dollar home is barely anything for someone to upset about. Half the people on this board probably live in $500,000+ homes.

The median home price in VT is probably over $500,000. This attack on him is silly. There's plenty of real things to go after him about.

Average home price is 209k.

It's not a huge deal but it is also some pretty tone deaf timing for a guy who actively solicited donations from people where $20 was a tough thing to give up.

His senate salary is $174,000 per year. Buying a 2nd home is not odd at that income level.

the guy railed on the 1%. when you can afford a 3rd home with a pricetag of $600k, you are the 1%. once again, if thats all true.

That's true but it isn't a response to what the ultimate point is.

$600,000 is not that much for a home.

Looks like median home price in VT is $232k(sales) or $209k (Zillow index).

yeah, it still kind of is even for your first home but ok maaaybe lets say its not. cumulatively from a living domicile perspective, 600 for a 3rd property is quite a bit above the norm. what percentage of the population have 3+ homes? not rental properties but homes.

but hey your donations were worthwhile

Yeah, but that was probably Leash's neighborhood. Bernie doesn't pal around with his type.

I think the Democratic Party will move significantly to the left over the next eight years. Bernie will help shape the future of the party, but he is only one part of a much larger trend/movement.

Bernie Sanders will not help shape the future of the party. He will be a footnote on a campaign that was never all that close.

When you say significantly more left are you saying that the next Democratic nominee for President once Hillary is done will be a Progressive?

That's not entirely accurate. Sanders campaigned to wrest control of our political system from corporations and the wealthy. He said on many occasions that he was not opposed to the accumulation of wealth; rather, he argued that the wealthy should pay a greater share of their income to maintain our social structure since they benefit most from it.
