Wouldn't go that far but the comments he made regarding the black southern vote was questionable.

  What?

I'm curious as to why you say "black southern vote." Unless I'm missing it, he didn't mention voter skin color. What you are inferring is comical, and the hatred for Bernie is reaching hilarious levels.

How many writers and commentators would you prefer that I cite who made exactly the same inference? Hint: There will be MANY!

Bill Clinton never made reference to skin color either but Clinton haters never had any problem with making the connection.

There is no doubt what he was referencing. She was winning Southern states by huge margins and the large margin of victory was due primarily to the turnout of black voters. To pooh pooh that by suggesting that it distorts reality has racial overtones. He basically ushered aside the black vote and attempted to render it insignificant.

He later tried to couch it by suggesting that Democrats aren't going to win the South in the general. What does that matter? It was primary season.

And I would find their inference to be just as ridiculous. How many of them are former Clinton staffers?

Also, the reference to Billy Boy doesn't matter here. I'm not commenting on what Bill said.

White or black, people from the south are the dumbest Americans by far. It's unfortunate such a large voting block is so impressionable.

The fact so many black people support Hillary is a fucking mystery to me. If conservatives actually put forth a better platform to garner minority votes the Democrats would never see the White House. I guess racism is hard to overcome tho.

I don't have a dog in this fight. Hillary, Bernie, Bill, Obama, whoever can go fuck themselves. But what you're saying is just insane. There was nothing racially overtoned or otherwise about what he said. There's plenty to go after Bernie for that is legit. Making shit up isn't good for anyone.

On the specific problems, I go back and forth, but - big picture - I certainly believe that reversing Citizens United, having a publically financed campaign system, and applying term limits would fix the majority of issues. I agree wholeheartedly with the guy (can't remember his name or location) who ran as a single issue candidate this year - fixing the campaign finance system would help to fix all other issues. In his mind, it is the single most important issue because it affects all other issues. I am inclined to agree with him.

I think there need to be some controls on post public service employment as well.

For immediate family too.

Racist is one thing I'm confident Sanders isn't. A lot of impressionable people in the South are just voting for Clinton off name recognition imo.

Hillary got John Lewis and Jim Clyburn to talk shit about Bernie and it worked.

That is pretty interesting writing off half a country as dumb. As far as republican support from minorities they must think it is a steep hill to climb. They could do just about anything and would be called labeled racist. It's just the way things seem to work now.

If you really believe this, it's a scary line of thought... it's similar to people like Julie DiCaro who look to draw offense from every single thing that's ever said, and it is harmful to free speech. It's especially troubling given that there is a psychopathic lunatic running for president that draws much less criticism from some* than Sanders.

I am not sure what your quarrel is with me? Jbills said "people from the south are the dumbest..." He went on to say that the republicans need to change to get more minority votes/support. I said it does not matter what the republicans do as they are seemingly always going to be viewed somehow as racist. I doubt any moves they make will break into the black democrat voting block anytime soon.

Is that controversial?

The reality is southern blacks and Hispanics are fairly conservative. It wouldn't take MANY years to reverse the trend if their weren't so MANY Republican politicians using language like Trump or promoting policies that discriminate against minorities. Reality is Republicans still believe that they can win without the minority voters. They're right when it comes to local and midterm elections. That's going to change in the next 20 years so they would be smart to start changing too.

Would it make a difference if the word "confederate" was added to the mix? Just because the media really didn't make much of it doesn't mean that it doesn't have relevance.

Good use of hyperbole. I bash Trump much more than Sanders. I just have a problem with the mounting perception that Sanders is some sort of altruistic crusader whose sole purpose is to right the wrongs of the political system.

I don't neglect his faults nor do ignore the fact that he is a politician, which means that he is prone and privy to political calculations just like every other politician. I continuously cited examples of his political use of calculation and manipulation yet it was ignored. It doesn't mean that I hate the guy but I'm also not going to be bamboozled by his antics either.

Unlike most at least I am actually for someone. Most people are either against the candidates or for people that have absolutely no shot to win. Those really are the safest picks in all of this isn't it?

Let me add that I don't think he is racist but the comments that he made were racially insensitive. If Clinton was called out for the Jesse comments then he should have been called out for this.

The craziest part of his statement is that it might be incorrect. Hillary may win a few "confederate" states after all. That really is some "distorted reality".

I knew you'do catch that but I really meant electronic media. Didn't much if any play on the cable news shows. I should have clarified it. My bad on that.

It's hard to get into Olympic hoops. I never wanted them to use pros. I see where both my guys, he and Melo pulled them through last game.

I think my only interest would be in proving that Butler isn't all that good. Hate Butler hoop watching is really not a good enough reason is it?

He hasn't looked good the last two games I've watched. Seeing Melo and Kyrie carry the squad is a thing of beauty tho.
