I thought this Smith guy was suppose to be a ground ball pitcher.

i, for one, am starting to panic because the cubs haven't won a ballgame in over 12 hours now. all season long i've felt like they've been too good to be true and now i'm slinking back in my chair like "yep, here go hell come!" (- calvin tran)

It's fun when you can condescendingly chuckle about a loss to your closest rival in mid-August.

Am I crazy to think that the acquisition of Rizzo from San Diego will go down as the most important move of the "Thoyer" (I'm sticking with it sini) regime?

Bob, how many RBIs does Anthony Rizzo currently have this season?

83

There's so much overhaul on and off the field that happened, plenty we'll never know of too, but it's hard to downplay his role from the start of it all, that much is certain.

Cashner had to be the best Cub pitching prospect if not #1 overall in their system at the time right? There was potential for that deal to blow up in their faces.

Hats off to F.O. though for evaluating young Andrew correctly and also for identifying Rizzo way back in the Boston days. Even the biggest Cub detractors have to admit that "Thoyer" knows young talent.

How much would it cost for you to be Lackey's personal assistant on game-days?

Zobrist is having a rough day.
I'm pretty sure he was to cover on the stolen bases earlier. And now that boner.

Remember, the assignment doesn't end when the game does. You have to see it through the night.

Coghlan made that look a lot harder that it needed to be.

DS, correct. That's Zorbrist's cover with a righty up. The pull side usually stay's home.
