This seems like one of those situations where you say "son, we'll take care of the money part on September 2 with a bonus. Take a week off and go visit your family and chill out, then show up in Iowa and bat 3rd for a while until August 31. But we need Chris in the organization for the playoffs in case you or one of the OFs get hurt."
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Theo trades him to the Padres for a PTBNL. If Columbus had a major league team, he could trade him there to go hang out with Saad.
