They're finally going past 1995, though they may have done 1999 a few weeks ago. I could have hallucinated that, though. It'd be weird to do 1999 before 1996. Anyway, good year!

I'll try to field this with a minimum of acerbic pessimism. "Indie" would be music put out on independent labels, as opposed to the large corporate labels. "Alternative" originally came to mean music that would not play on any mainstream commercial radio format. There is significant overlap in the terms.
