I'm trying to understand the point of it. That an ump makes bad ball and strike calls? I think that's a given.

CB Bucknor should be killed if this is true. He is doing a job. Bad at it but still doing a job he is paid to do. IMU needs help. No for real.

I mean...yeah. Simply put, that is all it does. But it shows exact distance on or off of the plate, and the % of how often that same location is called that same way.

Hey IMU ever do any umpiring? At any level?

Tough to get an answer from the I can pull up balls and strikes on a computer crowd. (IMU). I was a IHSA sanctioned baseball and softball umpire from 1990-1994. ASA certified also. Have officiated many games including Regional and Sectional contests in Illinois. When I lived in Iowa I officiated ASA softball from 2000-2004. Balls and strikes are the hardest to judge from a view of above the strike zone. Go do it and you will have a better perspective of how it works.

I didn't know it was automated. I think it's one of the dumbest Twitter accounts I've come across. I'm not on Twitter so I'm sure there is something worse but I haven't seen it. And like I said....we all know umps miss ball and strike calls. It doesn't need to be quantified. If they were reviewing called strike 3's during a game, that Twitter account would be great.

It's like a Joe Sheehan/Dan Bernstein produced Twitter account. Kind of in the same realm as "exit velocity".
