We have gone over this ad nauseum.

They don't make one bad beer or one OMG beer. But everything is tasty. Gimme a brewery like that ANYDAY.

Then you are Two Brothers. It's all decent, but it all kind of tastes the same. I'm fine with 2 Bros, but I can walk there. Fresh beer within walking distance = WIN. Driving 90 minutes for average beer = LOSE.

Give me a brewery that isn't afraid to take chances, and make something HUGE. This is why breweries like Bell's, 3 Floyd's, Founders, Goose Island, Pipeworks, Lagunitas, etc. will be held in higher regard than Two Brothers and New Glarus. Of course, there are some hipster jackoffs who are drawn to the cult of personality, but for most, it's just about the beer. I don't like most of GI's regular line of beers, but their barrel aged stouts are phenomenal. There is nothing on the market quite like them.

The Spotted Cow hatred is clearly due to its style as a cream ale.

Who said they hate Spotted Cow? Up until Cochise's comment, nobody said a bad word about it. It's just an average beer, IMO. There is no shame in making a drinkable beer.

Yeah, how crazy of beer fans to want complex, unique beers.

Glacial Trail IPA
Mudpuppy Porter
Satin Solitude Imperial Stout

Their special releases are usually very good. You should be able to find one up there. They make a good coffee stout, Peruvian Morning. Any of their bourbon barrel aged beers are great.

Take chances? New Glarus makes a wide variety of beers and they're all at least above average.

Their line up is quite extensive. Would love to know a brewery other than perhaps Founders that makes a credible Stout, IPA, DIIPA, Ale, Stout, Porter, Sour, Hefeweizen, etc.

I don't know MANY breweries that excel with such a large lineup.

Talk about contradictory for the sake of being contradictory. Those are terrible opinions. New Glarus wishes they could make beers like Zombie Dust and Dark Lord.

To even compare these two breweries is crazy. One has a long line of exceptional, although overpriced, beers. The other is decidedly average.

Dark Lord is just meh. I was so pumped to try it for the first time and I was underwhelmed. Zombie Dust is not anything special, plenty of other IPAs out there that are equal or better. 3F is about selling the experience of paying double for your beer and getting treated like shit by stupid fuckers that couldn't get a job anywhere else. My hatred for 3F is very high haha.

you can hate a brewery and still admit to it being good. i hate the fact that you can only get zombie dust if you bum rush a binny's and pay a lot more for it but i've had a ton of IPA's and it's easily the best tasting i've had. while i like lagunitas a ton, lil' sumpin and maximus aren't as sharp as Zombie Dust. the only one that comes close is Hop Stoopid, but it's expensive too.

i'm actually not even a huge 3F supporter, but Zombie Dust is an all-timer.

Never, ever tried those.

From what I have read I don't think they'd interest me all that much.

But if you you've got one in mind let me know, I'll try anything once.

As a first shot I would say try the New Holland Blue Sunday. Only like 5 bucks a bomber at Binny's. I bought it for shits and was quite pleased. Avoid the FFF Skul O'le. If you don't think you'll like Sour that one you'd most likely spit out LOL.

I would say average. But, there is no point in arguing taste. You like what you like. However, you can't make the argument that NG makes exceptional beers. They have a pretty standard line of average beers. Again, there is no shame in that. They are Wisconsin Two Brothers. Although, 2 Brothers is getting pretty good at making sours.

If New Glarus made a beer that was good enough, people would chase it.

Some of you guys have way too much negative energy focused on certain breweries and their fans, for reasons that have nothing to do with the beer itself. Cult of personality indeed.

The majority of the posters on this board don't live in Wisconsin. That would mean it's not widely available.
