No but the murder rate decreased nationwide after the crime bill that everyone criticizes was enacted. The murder rates in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago dropped by more than 50%.

There are a lot of factors involved in this. Before I could comment on Cheadle I would have to know what he meant.

It has gotten to the point where Trump and his surrogates are expected to make statements that are patently false. If you try and correct them they will make it about media bias.

Watching the few black surrogates that he has attempt to spin the racism charges is really quite interesting.

Newt Gingrich loves to push the false narrative that violent crime is on the rise. During the week of the RNC, he was on CNN blathering about Obama, and how his divisiveness has led to the increase in violent crimes. The anchor corrected him several times, but he forged ahead. He shifted gears by saying that violent crime is up in Chicago and Baltimore. She corrected him again, as his cherry picking wasn't even correct. Finally, when he realized his bullshit wasn't going to fly, he again shifted gears by saying that "people believe" that crime is on the rise. The verbal diarrhea increased every time he moved the goalposts. It was quite a sight.

Unsubstantiated beliefs are now more important than actual facts to some.

yeah, yeah, you noted that up thread how Trump's economic message resonates and if'n Trump gives the military types and other core voters a way to excuse his racism they'll fool themselves into thinking a vote for Trump is somehow not supporting his rather egregiously asinine views on race and many other things (women, muslims, immigration, etc etc). Tho he iterated his immigration stance to be more palatable to the general population/mainstream.

i wonder if his white voters will feel patronized and pissed off by this strategy; or if all they need is a fig leaf of white-washing of his views and they'll still turn out for him.

Seems like Trump has the right message for a lot of disenfranchised feeling voters, at least on the economy. But he's the wrong messenger.

Well, I don't know. They have a terrible candidate. Personally, I think "I'm With You" is a great slogan when juxtaposed against "I'm With Her". It evokes Trump working for America while America has to work for Hillary. But the short answer to your question is no. You've had a campaign manager assaulting a reporter and I don't know what happened with Manafort. Still, it's not like he needs Karl Rove or James Carville to understand how to use social media. The bar is a lot lower than that. He has kids in their 20s and early 30s. I'm sure they could tell him how it works.

Someone pointed out that the type of phone used for the Tweet is a great way to determine if Trump did it. Nearly all "normal" Tweets are done by someone else.
