This lunatic I kind of know was a Navy frogman who was trained to rescue the capsule on the return of the Apollo missions. I don't think he actually ever did it though. This guy is fucking crazy. He has these semi-feral dogs that live on his property and they just keep procreating and making new dogs and it's like a pack of wolves out there. Last time I saw him he had a right-hand dog named Suzie who was the only one allowed in the house and she was the Alpha of all those wild dogs. But anyway, that isn't the point of the story. This goof loves to go to garage sales and second hand shops and buy broken Craftsman tools for a dollar or less. Then he has the balls to take them into Sears and demand replacements. At first they put up resistance, asking for receipts and shit, but this motherfucker is tenacious. He just wears them down. Standing his ground, he'll ask why the receipt matters if they have a lifetime guarantee. "OH, you no longer stand behind the Craftsman products??? I'll tell my tool-buying friends about that!" Eventually they give the guy the new tools just to get him the fuck out of the store.
