Cookie was awesome. Even in his 80s, he was beautiful and smart. I had the chance to meet him once at a backstage event, and he was not simply charming but seemed to know that he was charming. The bird had was likely conscious of himself in much the same way humans are (though in his own birdy way). Poor little guy....he was retired, but still a huge loss for the zoo.
