But hey, keep talking about plumbing lines like this ice machine is a $5,000 piece of machinery built on space age technology.

I'm not failing to understand anything.
It seems you're the one having trouble.
Based on what I'm hearing from you... I don't think you can be helped verbally.
Get someone out who knows what they're doing. You do not know what you're doing.

What? I was fucking with you in the Fire Hahn thread but don't remember anything outside of that. I'm just sayin, it's not unreasonable to ask an appliance company to do some basic troubleshooting over the phone.
Exactly. Other companies have done this and gotten things fixed without a tech.

The difference is Sears builds repair services into their business model so they act like it's a state secret.

Whatever makes Darkside and Scooter feel superior though since they can fix anything and are manly men that don't need to explain a problem and get a few suggestions from the company that built the thing.

Again SLOWLY. If you cannot fix it yourself without someone holding your hand you need someone who knows what the FUCK they are doing. Easy to understand for most people. I take my cars to a mechanic for repair because I cannot fix them on my own. I would love to call my guy and ask him to walk me through it but we like each other too much for that.

Since I respect your ability to fix things with a simple walkthr I'll give you a free tip.
Chances are good than your refrigerator was manufactured by GE or another major manufacturer, so if you have the model and serial number it's easy to find out who manufactured it.
If say GE made it and Sears just slapped a kenmore label on it maybe you can try GE's customer support number.
Toodles!

$5000 dollar space age tech unit. NASA probably got involved.

Brick,

I'm not a tech but if you want to PM me, I can explain how to check if the motor on your icemaker went out.

You will need a six piece of wire.

Your pal,
Cresty

Thank you, but I prefer that Darkside not call me.

However, I do hope that he and FF have made up and that Francis is not jealous.

My wife worked at the local Sears part-time until they closed back in January of 2015. Her discount was good especially for when we bought big ticket things for the new house (refrigerator, washer, dryer, etc.).

That is what they should be retooled as, an appliance and tool store.

Its funny you say that, because that is exactly what they are doing.

It was a mistake as far as I think to eliminate the "Sears Hardware" stores.

You should really stop acting like you are smarter than me when you can't even wrap your head around the fact that I was not asking someone to hold my hand through the process. It has a very specific problem where it is leaking over the ice tray and down into the ice bin which over the span of about a week it forms the ice below it into a block and have to give it a hit to break it up. I called them up to see if there was any suggestions they had in order to fix it. Other companies have provided me with such details over the phone. Sears immediately went to the "We will send a technician out and it will be a minimum of $X". It is possible that this requires a simple adjustment to the water pressure.

This experience, along with the terrible grill that I bought from them that I threw away two years later and a terrible delivery/assembly experience for a gift that was setup for me, is why I will never buy anything from Sears again. Let them go out of business.

I would Google the problem and you may figure out how to fix it. I disagree with Scooter. There are MANY things that you can do with a little instruction.

MANY icemakers are essentially the same unit... there are several YouTube repair videos that should walk you through the problem. I had a bad water pump that I was able to replace on a fridge after watching the YouTube.
