It's a 5 or 7 game series. Your stud hitters could go into a slump. And your stud pitchers could get rocked. Cuz it's baseball. Plus your usually going against other stud pitchers in the playoffs. So you just gotta win a couple of 2-1 games.

You are so worried that they are going to win because of the Sox fan innate insecurities about the Cubs. The Cubs winning a world series is the last step to officially make the Sox fans sanity break. Which is insane... The Sox were pretty damn awesome in the 90s and won a world series 11 years ago. You shouldn't care what the Cubs do but it tears you apart on the inside because of the fact that the Cubs have a bigger fanbase. As though that amounts to anything in the grand scheme of things...

Yeah, its a generalization. I didn't care when the Sox won. I have too many friends that are Sox fans to be upset about that. Titles don't happen enough in Chicago to begrudge people success.
