He did run Brian Schlitter and James Russell out there one too many times for my liking.

You think Ricky Renteria does that?

He loves Coughlin a bit too much other than that not really. He is a real MLB manager. Any issues that come up playoff wise this season I am confident he will address swiftly. Unlike faker Baker many years ago.

So, based on the responses thus far, clearly no.

Taking the Cub job. Baylor, Baker, and Piniella all left in straitjackets talking to themselves. But Maddon is crazy to begin with so maybe he'll be okay.

Running a DOA Hammel out there in Game 4 of the NLCS was just waving the white flag. Although his other options were Lester on 3 days rest or a bullpen game so not much better options down 3-0, but throwing Hammel was akin to forfeit.

He will be a crazy World Series winning Chicago Cubs manager if not this season very soon.

Yes. He has made mistakes.
Kind of a dumb question.

He's a really good manager, but has made lots of them. Not dropping Heyward in the order for months when he was killing rallies left and right for example. Pinch running for Rizzo in a game where the score was tied, there were 2 outs already and Heyward was coming up....of course he grounded to 2nd for the last out. Lots of others too, but many more good moves and he seems to get the best out of most players and that is something not many managers do.

05/17/2009 -- not sure how you wouldn't remember that gaffe. They won the game, so maybe that's why people have such short memories.
