Go into the facility and of course they ask at the desk if the info is still correct and since I didn't bring anything with my current address and to avoid complications I of course say yes. Go through the renewal process , sign the document where u verify all the info is correct and proceed to the camera to get the new pic taken. All is well and good until they call me up to get my new license. Apparently as of July 1 2016, a new policy has gone into effect where they issue you a temporary fucking license at the Secretary of State facility and they mail you your hard copy license to the address listed on file. I'm going to have to now go to a house I haven't lived in in 5 years , tell the people living there who the fuck I am and and explain to them they are going to get mail for me pretty soon and can they call me and I'll come get it when it arrives. All because I couldn't be bothered to bring what I needed to do this by the book. Honesty really is the best policy kids.

Do you not watch or read any sort of news? This was a highly talked about topic not long ago. It has to do with the new TSA-secure driver's licenses and state ID cards. They are no longer created on site at DMV's.

Why couldn't you renew online? I just did.

The social security administration thought I was born ten years earlier than I actually was which I attributed to a clerical error when I was born. I figured this all out the first time I did my taxes online and the birthday was your signature verification.

Cook County and Illinois had my correct birthday. The problem comes post 9/11 when the government started syncing their databases. I went to renew my license one year, and the clerk says my info doesn't match. And it takes forever to get that stuff corrected.

Nah...I use BS addresses on my DL and ID, wait a week and go the DMV on 99th n King drive..a supervisor will OK it and won't even look @ your paperwork. It will take 2 -3 hours but they always come through.

Brogue, I doubt your the first person in this position. Just go back in there, and take a proof of current address to get your license mailed correctly. I highly doubt this is a felonious action. So many of us do it. Hell, my address still says I live at my parent's house, and I haven't lived there in 14 years.
