yeah, but I've known you for at least five years...probably more

No but Julie Dicaro has never said Patrick Kane is guilty either. Some people are caught up in stuff, they buy what they can't afford or spend friviously. I think lots of people just exist. They want the nicest things they can afford or buy things they enjoy. I don't spend for the sake of spending or buy for the sake of buying.

Just a quick toss into this discussion you two are having. When I was young I had a large extended family as well as neighbors we spent a lot of time with. Doing many things from just hanging around to vacation or misc. activities. I would say very close. My perception is people these days have less of this close nearby relationships. Thus they stay to themselves a lot and use/acquire things that make that more enjoyable. Not sure what part of chicken/egg cause that as far as why.

Yeah, I go to Pittsburgh with my buddies and invite a message board guy to join me. I don't think we were shy that night PM......

He likes to suck MANY poster's dicks on this board.

If you meant "poster's dicks" then you are saying the poster named MANY has MANY dicks.

But I assume you meant "posters' dicks".

In either case, no thanks. I won't submit to your fantasies.

Cool. My car is 10 years old. The AC doesn't work and it's dripping fluid on to my foot under the steering wheel. Can I get a new/used car?

It's just a leak? Call the car manufacturer. They should walk you through how to fix it.

You're describing any community though. There are people you want to be friends with and those you simply tolerate. This message board is a good example. And seriously, it's kind of amusing to hear IMU, one of the biggest extroverts I've ever met, piss on community.

I went to a block party this weekend and it was nothing but shiny, happy people. It seemed like such an idyllic place and I kind of felt bad that mine was nothing like this. I went to the Cubs game with the guy who invited me to the block party and the shit talking about the people on his block started before we even got into our seats.

I always tell my kids the only people you are really going to be able to rely on in the world are the people in this room. I'd add family because we are pretty close on both sides. Maybe a couple of friends, if you get really lucky in life.

Good Dolphin, Jr., you're my son, and I love you, but don't ever take sides against the family again.

You don't think so? In the message board world of introverts he and Seacrest definitely stand out. They're the only guys I've met from the board I would call extroverts.

I find it hilarious that you consider yourself an introvert.

The outward appearance of a person is difficult to judge whether they are an introvert or extrovert. As JORR mentions, it is primarily whether you derive your energy from being around others or from being by yourself (or around very close friends/family rather than large groups). Many "life of the party" types can even be introverts - they have just adapted to enjoy certain situations or to "fake it."

Not really. They were part of the PAG, but had their own platforms and powertrains. The S80 platform was actually used in Ford products and a re-egineered version is still in use today.

As for the Pacifica, it was "co-engineered" with MB, but it's anyone's guess what that even means. Under the hood it had the Chrysler 4.0L SOHC which was an enlarged 3.5L, the 6 speed was based on a Chrysler 4-speed.
And anyways, MB isn't something you'd look to for reliabilty, especially in the early-mid 2000's. I would say MB did the destroying in that relationship. But I firstly blame Bob Eaton for that.

I think Daimler-Benz was looking to streamline their supply chain/production/distribution processes and figured they'd buy and flip Chrylser--extracting IP and SCM know-how in the process.

Mustangs have been an exception to the rule of staying away from Ford products. Maybe they have other good vehicles; I don't like their ownership structure or their owners; and they've historically cranked out more crap than not. Just like the Lions.

The company with the fittest supply chain out there is Frito-Lay:

Interesting that they've found that the average facebook user has about as many persistent friends as Dunbar's number, which predates social media. Suggesting that if you're maintaining relationships online, those are displacing/replacing meatspace relationships. It makes sense some of y'all would wanna meet in person and further verify/cement those relationships, plus maybe score some free drinks:

As someone who is the Police (Chicago). I once felt I did help, protect, and maybe save a few lives. I certainly don't feel that way anymore. In fact, I feel like a massive failure. I always did my job to the best of my abilities, probably going above and beyond more than a normal officer would. What's the saying, "20% of people do 90% of the work?" I guess I'd be in the category. But we all know that's pretty much every work force. Going back to JORR do the police help? Absolutely. I see it every day, or I did at one time. The environment we are in right now with everyone second-guessing and hating on the Police isn't helping. I doubt we'd be having this discussion if it wasn't for the environment we are currently in. I don't know what got us to this point. Not less than 3 years ago people saw the police and thought, "damn I hope I wasn't speeding?" to people thinking, "fuck those racist pigs!"

I suppose what I'm trying to say in my gobbledygook of thoughts, is that the police are only good as the people they're representing. And like it or not, we represent YOU. We are supposed to be there for YOU. If you don't want us there, then of course we aren't going to be there or we aren't going to appear like we are there for you. It's all a psychological to me. I feel people are so currently wrapped up in hating the police, they don't see really that they just hate themselves.

You seem like a good guy. You certainly don't come across as a hammerhead cop. Still, you seem to be suggesting the public is at fault for the environment rather than police forces that are becoming more and more militarized and less a part of their communities everyday.

The thing is, if you had been out there during the Laquan McDonald shooting I have to believe your report would have been the same as all the other guys'. I wouldn't blame you for that. And I don't think that makes you a bad person. But it does make the police force a bad institution.

You talk about the public "hating on" the police. It's a two way street. And I'd suggest those feelings are a lot stronger on the part of the police. There are plenty of citizens who support you. Many have spoken in this very thread. But I don't know any cops who don't have the feeling that the people they are supposed to be serving and protecting are on an opposing "team".

This is why I think the police unions have failed most of their officers for the benefit of the few bad eggs. I'm sure there is some legal reason why but it seems like they contribute greatly to the idea that the police never do anything wrong and don't ever deserve any sort of repercussions.

Here are a few of the Policemen I have known personally in my life:

One Chicago cop killed in the line of duty.

One suburban cop shot through a door and lived because he had a vest on.

One suburban cop who in his off time serves in Afghanistan as a Army Colonel.

One State Cop who worked with an FBI Crime unit.

Two cops helped save my life.

I don't know about any of you,but I thank God these guys were there in my life. I'm pro Police but even the staunchest supporter must realize there are bad cops, too. Just like every other profession.

Again. jimmy, I don't think this is a personal thing. It's not about people. It's about an institution.

The modern police force in America was designed to protect the capitalist state. The original job of the urban police force was to put down dissent. There is a link between economic downturns and populist rage against the police. These are generally not conversations that are had in economic boom times.

The "rage" has never been this bad in our nations history since the Haymarket (?) Riots in Chicago. Guys getting assassinated for just wearing the blue,it's unreal. It would be nice if our leaders in the White House supported the Police but ask any cop if he feels Obama "has their back".

Protect the capitalist state? You mean to protect our way of life?

It's like you guys think this economic system is some grand conspiracy. It is the product of our Constitution that has evolved over 200+ years. It will go down in history as one of the greatest combinations of democratic government and economic strength the world has ever seen. The level of development created by the capitalist state is something unparalleled in history. Four percent of the world's population is producing nearly one quarter of world output.

The system is not without flaws. Maybe the accumulation of material goods is not your thing. Fine. But the vast majority of the population is getting its basic needs met- food, clothing, and housing. And I am all for exploring the problems of inadequate public schooling performance and income inequality. I am not in favor of tearing the whole mother fucker down with silly ideas like banning the police and moving towards anarchy.

Protect the capitalist state? You mean to protect our way of life?

It's like you guys think this economic system is some grand conspiracy. It is the product of our Constitution that has evolved over 200+ years.
