My buddy's family went on vacation when we were young and forgot to feed their hamsters. When they got home, the hamsters were dead and had scratched each other's eye balls out and eaten them.

Thanks for the nightmare fuel. Holy shit.

 I know, dude. It scarred me for awhile knowing that. And now I've passed the horror onto you!

Best,

Leash

Wtf? I was about to sleep, but now all I can picture is two formerly mild mannered hamsters going feral on each other. It's a crime to tell that story.

Well, it was years ago. At least their suffering is in the distant past?

Our suffering has only just begun after hearing that story. Pretty much the msg board equivalent to the Ring movie.

reminds me of a story this russian jew from siberia told me. he's a huge weed aficionado. top shelf dank only tho.
i'm a lightweight and end up super stoned and he'd tell stories. he's also the first person who gave me Tito's vodka.
this is like 2003-2004? Tito's wasn't the trendy vodka it is today. he always had a bottle of it in his freezer. figured
it was good, if anyone knows vodka, a russian from sibera, yano.

anyhow, he was always doing weird shit like stepping outside and rubbing his feet on the mat if we shook hands across
the doorway or sprinkling his bowl of green with some yay. good way to get blotto. he'd tell stories about siberia
and one that stuck involved. well, i couldn't find the Russian term for this particular person at the center of the story, there's a term
they have for the fat guy; so i'll just post the best rendition/iteration of it i could find on a quick google:

Decent, but still not as bad as the hamster story.

So it has been an hour or so -- my idea... USPS put an individual change of address... costs you $1. No embarrasment.

Schopenhauer was way out in front of the Animal Rights agenda, as he believed that animals are cognitive of the causal structure of their reality.

Schopenhauer was a pessimisti, raging mysoginist who had no faith in humanity and somehow also non-ironically loved puppies. In other words, he was a great guy who probably bought drinks IRL.

Rock out with your cock out,

I'm surprised that the first hamster that gouged out the eyes didn't survive and just keep eating the other one. Maybe they didn't go after each other as cannibals but rather they were friends/lovers and they made a pact to kill each other at the same time. Sort of a Romeo/Juliet thing.

That's a good plot twist, Hank. Now I can finally go to sleep.

jeez, Art wasn't that bad, in context, mid 19th century...i mean, his views were at least more progressive than Trump's today. and he mostly hated one woman, his mom; no one bought Schopenhauer's books during his life while his mom was virtually the J.K. Rowling of her time. at least you left out 'defender of pederasty', but then Schopenhauer's editors usually leave out that chapter from his collected works as well. Schopenhauer's immediate intellectual heir Nietzsche, now that guy was a real fucker. Took the worst parts of Schopenhauer--misguided misogyny, incipient nihilism, proto-eugenics--and cranked them up to 11.

Any issues with Kierkegaard? I had a hard-bound copy of Either/Or I and II growing up. didn't understand a lick of it (yeah, it was translated, still way beyond anything I could hope to grok), but read it all the time, as dude was hilarious. Kierkegaard would fit in around here today:

JORR's constant complaint:

Some Guy twisting people's thoughts and tweaking their egos:

And sentiments with which it's darn near impossible to find disagreement:

Kierkegaard and Schopenhauer agreed on this:

My children never went more than 24 hours :D

Your neighbor probably hid the key to his strongbox in the bird's food, so you wouldn't go snooping for it. Fredo was weak.
