you missed another part to this puzzle. if you or me skirts out on taxes, we go to jail

but if you are a ceo for a company like amazon and colludes an entire enterprise to snake out on BILLIONS, its ok we just need to talk things out

On Nov. 9, 2012, the IRS informed Amazon it owed $234 million in additional taxes to the government for 2005 and 2006

In the early 2000s, Amazon embarked on a years-long mission to save billions by setting up operations in Luxembourg to radically reshape its tax structure. Using a complex patchwork of subsidiaries, the online shopping behemoth managed to shift vast quantities of its profit through a sophisticated mechanism that took external consultants and in-house tax specialists — who reported directly to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos — years to dream up.

If you think something doesn't smell right....well, that's because it stinks!

Baltic Dry has been tanking for years.

Thank Christ for seasonal adjustments!

wsj estimates there's 30% more capacity than demand in bulk shipping these days.

maybe this BR will result in a decline in the price of used shipping containers. or a chance to pick up a lot of em on the cheap.

there's a safe but not (currently) hip inner-ring burb in a large industrial midwestern city with a number of ~4500sq ft (avail at $1 per sq ft, or less) vacant lots interspersed among existing residential housing that would be ideal to throw up cheap shipping container houses to market to millennials.

i dont know.. theres so much that has to be done to a shipping container to make it feel like a home... even if you get the container for free, is it really any cheaper than just building a wood structure? i guess you get the benefit of being able to move with your house....

but i would buy one to bury underground and grow weed in it. that would be cool
