This Labor Day morning on Fox News today, they ran a story of a mom singing a potty-training song to her little girl. After it was done, the beautiful anchor turned to the elder weatherman and said (paraphrase): "your laughing but pretty soon your wife will be singing that to you. Your getting old and will be wearing a diaper soon"

My wife & I were shocked. Pretty tacky and we never heard that kind of nasty "chit-chat" on a news show.

shooting for the fun, friendly-ball-breaking local morning show crew thing and missed. that's a joke you make about yourself in that situation, if'n it fits (and it doesn't in that scenario), rather than the older weather guy. she should leave those kind of jokes to the professionals:

She goes by "Kristen Nicole" on TV? Facebook sorority girl culture makes the big time.

hey a perfunctory google search brought up a feder column that said she shares the kristen nicole name with playboy's miss may 2013? maybe kristen pflum just isn't euphonic and/or memorable enough in this day and age?

the comment section of that feder article has some indelible signs of [Current Year]

Jeesh, Feder. What's with the sexism and misogyny? You owe her, and your readers a sincere apology. Your editor owes the same, for allowing this article to see the light of day. You're bashing this woman, questioning her professionalism and making snarky inferrences simply because you don't like her employer.

I'm glad she didn't respond when you "asked Kristen for clarification about her name change." She doesn't owe you, or anyone, an explanation of her professional decisions. There's no way you ever would have written this same article about a male anchor.

Eat a Snickers. You sound like a Trump supporter when you're hungry.

the product placement at the end is a perfect touch IMO

I get the first-name-middle-name thing when you don't want a potential employer to look you up and find out you're a giant walking hole that booze goes into, but once you're on TV -- even Fox 32 -- you're in the clear, right?

stage-names be common among on-camera newschicks. along with career opportunities drying up after age 30, it's something they share with strippers. they claim to do it as a mild-prophylactic against ending up chained to beardown's water heater.

Yeah, I remember Feder getting in some trouble for that. Of course, the difference with men is that here in THE PATRIARCHY, traditionally male given names occur as surnames fairly often, so when they're not your name to begin with, they make good on-air names. This is how Jewish broadcasters cursed with names like "Marty Feibelman" have survived. If she had gone by "Kristen Nicholas," no one ever would have given it a second thought.

IDK about that. He quickly kicked the morning guy to the weekends at Fox.

Caplan is solid at his job, caught a bad deal at ABC. He got replaced by someone who is bad at her job, but looks decent, not great. Wonder if he had a lawyer make a call to ABC.
