I agree. And I think we both obviously realize there are probably MANY officers who have beliefs that are incompatible with being able to be a good public servant in the US, but if you are openly advertising those beliefs in uniform it seems like an easy call.

I think you'd actually have to specify what words and symbols are off-limit. Otherwise, there'd be too much stuff that could fall into the description. You couldn't use words like "hateful," "racist", etc because they could be interpreted too broadly.

Outside of the organized groups you see from time to time and some bikers I don't really ever recall hearing about nazi symbols much anymore. When young it was a big deal in Chicago but that's the extent that I know. When I looked earlier today the groups above seemed to have modified and changed a lot of nazi/German stuff around to make it their own. Even this guy has the eagle but no swastika.

Whether a tattoo is of a swastika (a religious symbol in Hindu and Buddhist religions that dates back to before the 2nd century BC, obviously way before the Nazi party existed) or BLM or another hate group of that kind, unless the officer wearing the ink has done something wrong to show he/ she is unfit to serve in that capacity, nothing should be done.
