Don't understand playing LaStella at third and Baez at second. LaStella came up as a 2nd baseman while Baez has excelled at 3rd bsse (excluding that brain fart at LA). Would love to hear Maddon's rationale. Maddon being a little to cute for my liking.

I'm pretty sure it's because these games don't mean shit to a tree so he's finding out what he has just in case the situation warrants it when it actually matters.

Has that old school yellow tint to it as if you were watching a game from the 70's.

Villar thinks he walks and throws his bat, but its a strike.

Next pitch from Hendricks Villar thinks its a walk and throws his bat, but its obviously a strikeout.

(long pause)

DeShaies: Well, there will be no mea culpa from Ron Kulpa.

Jerry Lewis manning 2B for the Brewers apparently ... appropriate for Labor Day.

Yeah, but Carlos Martinez is kicking his ass in the stat that really counts.

Looks like Maddon will be resting 1-2 starters per game from here on out. Or even three.

No reason not to at this point.

No. This team won the division in June. Rest everyone up and get your rotation in order. Jon, Jake, Kyle, Horseface.

Bryant, Russell and Contreras all out of the starting lineup? Russell just had a day off too, so that's a bit curious. Sure, they have plenty of quality depth and it's the Brewers after all.....but just a bit surprising that guys like Russell and Contreras are getting multiple days off of late. Hoping Almora gets some opportunities now that he will be back, to show he is ready to take over CF next year.

I think he will change your mind with his incredible defensive abilities. You will come to realize that he is a true gold glove outfielder. Not just real good like an Adam Eaton, but on a level we have never seen in an outfielder for the Cubs ever before.

My comment was not about his WAR next year or for his career, but for his defensive prowess, which barring injury will prove superior to all those former players.

But will he be a better baseball player?

The answer is no.
