I don't think I've ever found store brand anything to be as good (or better) than the name brands. I always hear about mythical store brand items that are somehow 50x better and 3x cheaper and yet I've never had them myself.

Maybe store brand butter.

Store brand is alright in most cases. I'd never say its better though. Some things you have to go name brand on though. Cream cheese, mayo and cereal are three that come to mind.
