I'm boycotting Jewel over their ridiculous pricing games. They have a "buy one get one free" display near the meat section and it's a joke. The other day they had a single slab of ribs for $32, and then you get one of equal or lesser value for "free." Give me a fucking break -- even Standard Market wouldn't dare try selling an uncooked slab of ribs for $32.

In my opinion, that type of stuff crosses the line between savvy marketing and consumer fraud.

Dominick's was the closest grocery store to me by far, less than 5 minutes. when they went under i was praying for anything- Pete's Fresh Market, Mariano's, hell I would have even rather had Whole Foods- but no, we had to get a Jewel.....what's worse is there's one in Lemont that's maybe 10-15 minutes from me

their produce sucks, their meat sucks, their deli sucks......please go away

I remember first going to school on the east coast and I was out at like a Wegman's or Price Chopper or something and I was like which aisle is the pop in? And the lady looked at me like I was completely crazy. I didn't realize that it was called anything else.

for pricing games though, Target is BY FAR the worst
they have an endless amount of these promos where you buy 2, 3, 4 or however many of something and get a 5$ gift card. The tags are all over the place and they make you think things on sale when they really aren't.

yea but look at what happened a few years ago when the CEO of JC Penny's said they were eliminating sales and just going with an everyday price....people like to think things are on sale and that they're getting a deal. If you ever have the misfortune of going into a Kohl's, i dare you find a single item in the store that isn't on "sale"

There was an Ultra Foods in the old Omni at Rand and Thomas in Arlington Prospect Heights. Lasted like a year, if that.

I heard the commercial on the radio, so I went to my local Jewels. With the purchase of one slab of ribs and a bottle of wine, you get two slabs of ribs for free. The ribs were $8.99/lb, which came out to ~$30 per slab.

Yes, my mom shops there on behalf of our church to supply generic food for luncheons.

GFS supplied the food for district 21 lunches. The food had to have been just a step above prison food. It suuuuuuuuucked.

There's a new Gordon opening up around the Brickyard area, where Fullerton and Grand split. I guess it's a big deal because it's the first one in the city limits. Never been.
