It would be funny if the Cardinals take them out, but I think true justice will be Dusty's revenge.

That isn't the question. We know they are going to lose. They're the Cubs.

I think most Cubs fans understand that this team isn't going to win it all this season. They're bum slayers.

I can't predict what will happen but haven't they just beat up on some WC contenders these past few weeks?

Giants, although that means an opening round loss most likely.

What kind of sports fan would prefer their team lose to any other team?

As a Mets fan I would like to see them finally break the curse and win one.

I'd take the Cubs over the Nats and Dodgers in a 7 game series.

The NLDS is the problem. The Cards hit a lot of home runs and the Giants make a lot of contact. Both of those teams are built for playoff success. The Mets suck but they're in the Cubs' head.

Add on that the Cubs will be playing noncompetitive baseball for 2-3 weeks before the playoffs too.

This is the Cubs though. So they'll probably sweep the NLDS and lose the NLCS in 7 because that would make no sense.

God damn fucking goat.

I love the Cubs as much as anyone. I got so vested in 2003, and that Marlins series damn near killed me. I vowed never to get so emotionally connected as to let losses bother me. That applies to all sports. I was at game 7 in St Louis for the Hawks loss this year. It was painful, but it passed faster than Chinese take out.

I was at the Bartman game, and yes I agree getting emotionally invested in a sports team is almost always heartbreaking and unnecessarily stressful. I'm borderline with this Cubs team right now, unfortunately.

I love the team and its chances. I'll be celebrating hard if they win. But I won't lose sleep if they don't. It's like a call option- I get the upside once the security passes the strike price, but the cost of losing to me is only my initial small investment.

No team worries me. The Cubs are vastly superior to any competition. Any losses the Cubs have during the postseason will be due to random bad luck, and are not in any way related to the skill of either team.

I'm worried in the general sense that sports are strange and the best team doesn't always win. No team scares me in particular. The Cubs are the best team in baseball this year.

Nobody in the NL scares me, I'd be surprised if the Cubs don't win the NL..they played good against the AL this year and outscored em in lopsided fashion.

Who in the AL did they play that was any damn good? The only games I remember are the Sox, Angels, and Seattle.

All three suck.

Rangers
Astros

2 of 3 versus both.

(They played the AL West)

JORR's trolling aside, anyone who says no one scares them is out of their mind. It's baseball. The Cubs have about a 20% shot (at best) to win it all.

This is one of the problems with using full season results. In the last 30 games the Cubs have been roughly equal to at least 5 other teams. They got off to a historical start but clearly they aren't THAT good.

Dude, get outta here. You're the one who stomped your feet last year when MANY of us said the Cubs were better than the Cards, despite their records.

Hmm...The Rangers are pretty good, but their pitching is a bit suspect. About the only team in the AL that would really scare me if I were a Cubs fan is Cleveland. Boston's pitching isn't very good.

I think if the Cubs lose, it will either be to the Dodgers or Nats...if they get through the NL, I think this is the year they win.
