Awful staff according to PWARP. Lackey is their best guy and he's only 35th overall. Terrible.

You are correct in that "advanced statistics" that no one uses do not count. Baseball Prospectus can try to push whatever they want since they feel left behind by Baseball Reference and Fangraphs. It doesn't mean it will take if the advanced statistics represent nothing and haven't been found to be successful in analyzing past performance or predicting future performance.

You sound a lot more intelligent about advanced statistics if you never talked about advanced statistics.

You don't know shit. You just spout crap that supports whatever argument you're trying to make at a given moment. Usually that some mediocre Cub is having an "historic season".

Unrelated. PLOMP shows that Jason Heyward is having an all time great year at the plate. His PLOMP+ metrics are off the charts. Literally off the charts. PLOMP.

I don't remember IMU having such a reaction to the even more made up Gamescore.

He's angry that there is an advanced objective stat that shows the Cub pitchers to not be as good as he thinks they are. He's still using fWAR. He must think it's 2007.

Have you ever once seen PWARP mentioned anywhere on this board before today? Might be a great hint that no one uses it because it is meaningless.

Same with DRA.

And with me personally, you'll rarely find me using any type of WAR. I prefer actual statistics...not 'ratings' of combined statistics.

Can we compile a list of what stats (advanced and traditonal) are meaningless? It seems to change almost daily.

Win/loss.

That's pretty much it.

PWARP, DRA, RBI, Wins are all things that I have seen referred to as "meaningless" on here. I think somebody even said batting avg was too.

Personally, I think that is quite stupid. All stats tell you something.
