The only thing I can think of is trespassing, but I'm not sure how that works with a business invitee at a place like a restaurant or Target.

I'm far more concerned with who the bloody hell is taking interest in as well as the time to check, and exactly why?

I've looked, and found a few cases here and there of pervert men putting on wigs and going into women's bathrooms to...I don't know, whatever it is they do. As in, they are ostensibly not of a gender identity that would warrant dropping trou with biological females, they just get a sexual rush out of it.

So if I was a business owner, I'd be interested in knowing my powers to eject someone for their bathroom choice/use, and I would think any legislation granting the positive right of bathroom choice would do well to preserve such power in some fashion.
There are also perverts in mens bathrooms. That isn't a reason to make a bill designed for widespread discrimination like this is.

....k? Where did I say there was any cause "to make a bill designed for widespread discrimination"? I just inquired as to what the law (The Law as a concept, not simply the NC bill) says about bathroom usage currently.

Read what Don Tiny said please and then your response to it. Your response was quite strange if it wasn't at all relevant to his point.

The bill in North Carolina is giving absolute power to discriminate against someone based on their sexual preference.

It is identity not preference. Anyway, I can see how it is discrimination but I do not see the need to change anything for such a minute part of society. IF there is no shame in being trans and IF the bathroom one uses should make no difference to people that are not trans WHY does it make such a difference to those that are? People ask where is the harm to a "normal" person if a trans uses the bathroom of their choice. Where though is the harm in a trans person using the bathroom designated by the penis or vagina requirement? If someone has gone the whole way and had the operation then there is no question at all by any side.

You don't see what the harm is in forcing someone who lives as a woman to use the bathroom of a man?

This bill is about far more than bathrooms though. It's basically open discrimination in all sorts of places and not just bathrooms.

I am not an expert on this but it seems like trans people catch enough flak from people about the choices they are making in their life regularly. Why are we policing where they are going to drop a deuce? This is a stupid law made by intolerant people.

The bill repealed anti-discrimination laws on the books, opening the door for the ability of the state to deny jobs, etc based on sexual preference. They threw an add on to their bathroom bill...

This got me wondering...did separate bathrooms for each gender come about because women wanted privacy/protection from men, or did (certain) men not want to be grossed out by women's bodily functions? I could be wrong, but my gut tells me it was the latter, and over time it's become something women want to preserve. Personally, I prefer not to hear (or smell) my wife's bowel movements.

It is weird, isn't it? In a society where we make it unlawful to discriminate against someone based on sex (and one in which we are taught "separate but equal" is unacceptable), we gladly discriminate against people based on sex when it comes to where people relieve themselves, and by and large we don't have a problem with it.

The true rightys on here will continue to ignore that fact. The bathroom part is a tiny piece of the bill. To them it's everything.

I thought the discussion was bathrooms. That is all I got. And no I do not see the harm in the trans using there penis/vagina assigned bathroom. No more than there is no harm to people that have an opposite penis/vagina person use the bathroom they are in. At the end of the day don't care though.

I don't really give a shit who uses what bathroom.

What if the law forced you to use a womens bathroom even though you identify as a man?

Just put yourself into the position of a transgendered person who honestly and truly believes they are different than their genetic makeup but is forced to use the bathroom with others who they don't identify. Are you saying they should see absolutely no harm in that?
