( Cub fan hyperbole alert!!) Seems like Rizzo would hit .330 if he used that 2 strike swing all the time. He was so short and quick to the pitch and hit a fucking seed.

Unproven hitter with solid potential, and no ability to help an NL club.

He has value. Spend his value on pieces that can help the 2017-2020 Cubs.

As great as the Jake & Strop deal has been for us, I'm still going to go with the Rizzo for Cashner swap as Thoyer's best move while in charge of Cub baseball.

This guy has been more productive than any of us probably ever envisioned.

Don't over look the Cardinal accomplishments in this series. They broke up a no-hitter in the ninth, only got shutout once. And prevented the Cubs from clinching the division when they had to sweep to do it.

Nationally speaking, I remember there being some hand wringing over the Cub trading away their top prospect right off the bat. Especially because of Rizzo's early struggles in San Diego.

Walt laughs at me when I say it, but Rizzo is and has been the foundation.
