That's a guy whose presence was greater than his numbers. He was a great a player and anyone who played against him will say that.

Sounds like he was a great leader. MANY average players are great leaders too.

The Bank Shot is a lost art in today's day and age.

Bernie probably dominates in an over 65 league. He looks to be unstoppable from that spot on the floor.

Bernie is, without a doubt, a master of the bank shot, the triple threat, the bounce pass, the elbow shot, free throws, boxing out, outlet passes, the three-man weave, and the Mikan layup drill.

A max effort guy. Only his detractors questioned his defensive background.

No, but Hilgenberg is in, isn't he?

No

He is also a nominee this year.

Interesting. I thought Hilgy was in. No way Kreutz gets in before him. Covert is probably more deserving than either of them, but maybe his career is a little short.

The offensive line were the unsung heroes of that team. Each player went to a Pro Bowl in his career. They ran the ball on anyone. Covert, Bortz, Hillgenberg, Thayer, Van Horne. That was some collection of talent. Backups like Becker and Humphries were starter quality players

That was a great poster...threw mine away 30 years ago and now I wish I had it again for the garage.
