HIs other work was interesting but hard to get through, given all the fucking narrative distractions which started out as charming but later just became a headache. It was like reading a bumpkin version of Pynchon.
The weirdest part of
Shoeless Joe was when Ray and his twin brother measure their erect penises to see if they are the same size. (They were.)
