Ok, so they've won the division and should have home field as well in the NL.

Do they get it done and win the championship or just get to the World Series? Or do they do a Lou Piniella and choke in the division series??

Maybe another Leon Durham fuckup or more Bartman type bullshit??

Heroes or goat predictions??

“I’m thinking let’s take care of the swelling and the pain-free range of motion and then we’ll start a strengthening program. So, I’m just worried about the next four or five days right now.” - Nats trainer Paul Lessard on Stephen Strasburg last week

In the NL, the only team that I'd think would have a good shot against the Cubs is Washington, but without an effective Strasburg, and with Dusty, forget it.

I'll predict, officially, a World Series victory over the Cleveland Indians.

Sox fans certainly were. I still don't believe they won.

I hate this but,
Lose in the NLDS to the eventual world series winner, the Giants.

Prove me wrong kids, prove me wrong!

It's hard to "believe" when you're talking the Cubs but they're in the mix, so if they get in the post season 4/5 times over the next few years they should break through sooner or later.

If the starting pitching kicks ass this year, they can get it done. But I can't say I'm highly confident that Hendricks won't get rocked or that Lester/Arrieta won't lay on egg.

But they're in, and they have home field, so let's hope for the best.

I'm very confident they play in the WS, 50% chance they win it.

Anything less than a WS appearance is a huge failure.

Lose the NLCS 4-2.

Win Games 1 & 2 and then lose 4 straight.

Game 6 of the Fall Classic, Cubs about to clinch their first World Series title since 1908. Late in the game, Chris Coghlan ranging toward the foul line to catch a pop-up for the 3rd out in the 8th inning when he spies Bartman in the crowd: Coghlan drops the ball; Red Sox go on to stage a comeback and win the game. Big Papi personally escorts Bartman out of Fenway that night and then walks Bartman to his front-row seat behind home plate before Game 7.

This is very stupid. Coghlan will not be on the playoff roster. Back to homo school for the both of you.

Coghlan's on the playoff roster. Short bullpen (well, fewer pitchers) in the post-season. Left-handed bat. Logged games at 5 different fielding positions this season. .853 OPS as a PH. ~.800 OPS since the all-star break. .364 OBP + .636 SLG for a 1.000 OPS in his last week of games.

They make the World Series and the supervolcano erupts 10 minutes before the first pitch of game one in Boston.

injuries throughout the NL have really opened up a clear path to the WS for the Cubs.

It would be a monumental choke job if they didn't make it that far.
