This guy looks like crap. His control is non-existent. A lot of half ass breaking pitches that hit 3 feet in front of the plate. I can see him as your #3 starter but if he has one of those wild innings how far do you go with him?

Not sure you afford to even have him on the playoff roster

Nice.

His leash is nonlonger than anyone else's, Jimmy. If he can't hit the fucking strike zone in the first, you get a long reliever up in the first.

Tell that to Jim Frey in game 5 back in '84.

you know it's gotta be a pretty long leash cuz he does yoga and pilates and stuff and therefore you don't wanna end up choking the poor guy.

for some reason this post makes me wanna go have a yogurt.... what the fuck is wrong with me?

I seem to remember Maddon having a pretty short leash in the playoffs with Tampa... then again, the starters he had down there were kinda, eh.

At this point Arrieta would be my number 4. Dr Teeth even gets the nod before him now.

All Arrieta is doing right now is throwing off the advance scouting reports. He is smart.

Teams are in for a surprise come playoff time.

Longer than Hammel but not as long as Lester. I still have the irrational hope that he will flip a switch and go back to 2015 regular season Jake come the playoffs.

This morning on M&H it was sad hearing John Heyman refer to Arrieta as one of the best #3 starters in the game.
