Pretty good documentary. Saw it at the Music Box, and it's also out on Hulu. Nothing much I hadn't heard before, but it was cool seeing some of the grainy footage they managed to gather.

You know I don't really like the touring Beatles that much. I much prefer the work they did after the stopped touring.

You and me both!

As I was watching the footage of these little girls passing out, I was thinking, these people have no idea how much the Beatles are gonna change. Elvis Costello, who they interviewed for the film, talked about how he wasn't ready for the 1966 and beyond Beatles. At first, he was like, What is this music? Where are the Beatles I know? Six weeks later, he said, he couldn't stop listening to it.

A few Comiskey shout-outs increased my appreciation of the film, too.

Speaking of Elvis Costello and the Beatles, it feels to me like McCartney's post-Beatle song "My Brave Face" was entirely created by Costello and they just put McCartney there to sing it. Listen to the song and tell me it isn't a Costello song. Would love to know how much McCartney really did on this one.

It's not like the early stuff isn't genius and totally ground breaking either just not my cup of tea.

No doubt about that. I would have just watched it on Hulu, but my fourteen year-old daughter just discovered the Beatles, and it's good to get kids off the South Side whenever possible. Worth it.

I just wish I had my old Beatles albums (and all the other ones).

Me also. Had 500 or so LPs that I put away when CDs were born pretty much re purchased everything I had and liked really well. Put them in a storage barn at my old house that was then solid and dry. Storm tore some of the roof off and all of it ruined. I had some of my Mom and Dads mint 50's and 60"s stuff also like first pressing Buddy Holly and obscure stuff like Roy Hamilton. Pissed to this day about it.

I am impressed that I am in your head because you do not have much room in that pea brain. Are you done clowning yourself now. You look foolish. Not impressed.
