The inverse appears to be true with Blackhawks/Canucks/Jets fans, where the locals who are priced out of their home games find it more affordable to fly to Nashville and Phoenix and be rude and drunk there.

i actually agree with the theory.... though realistically all of deadspin fan fight videos and other rowdy fan behavior is less than 1% of the fans attend the game... but it's easy to throw blanket assumptions that therefore all the fandom is bad (Ligues?)

There was a time when Bernstein used to do gay jokes and objectify women. Actually, just 2 years ago. But he evolved so now he speaks against this sort of behavior.

Bernstein also used to use code words like "Wang whipper" to describe black people. Doesn't do that anymore.

It did seem out of place to go from the ZZ report with the anthem practice in the background to that sermon. It is what the show is though complete with the jingoistic strawmen.

I spend so much time in the tunes section I was thinking this thread was something different.

I have no problem with what he said, which was basically take a minute to reflect on why players are protesting (to be differentiated from quietly reflecting on championships), but what I do have a problem with is his lecturing his audience on social issues. This is the same guy who told the people living in Englewood to make more money and move if they don't want to get shot.

That's my point. Nothing wrong with what he says on social issues. It's just the fact that, based on things he's said in the past, it's coming from a racist, sexist and a homophobe.
