In my condo I had the same issue with a clogged toilet. What I found out which I didn’t know before is when buying or renting a place the builder/ owner most of time uses the cheapest materials (ie builders grade toilet). A builder’s grade toilet market price is probably around $60 and its total garbage.

I spent come cash and bought a new toilet at Home Depot for about $200 and have not had a clogged toilet for about 2.5 years now. Basically the cheap toilets are made shitty (pardon the pun) and that’s why they clog.

This is the exact model I bought:

Have you tried to flush golf balls with it? Please report back if you have.

Pour a whole gallon and don't flush for about 4 hours, than try plunging again.

Or mix some Draino in and enjoy the fumes moron.

Unless something is in the stack you should be able to fix it. My only 2 bits of advice:

1. Get as much water out of the toilet before moving it and still prepare for water to slosh all over the damn place when you move it.

2. Have someone help you when you re-seat it with the new wax ring. If you haven't done it before a set of eyes can help you line it up properly so it seals. They can be awkward as hell to hold and seat depending on the space you have to work with.

This much is true. If the seal is not correct more problems await. Plumbing problems are a mess. Call a pro and have a beer and let them do it. Easy fix unless you are a guy that likes stress that you bring on yourself.

Years ago I had a similar problem. It ended up being a simple piece of plastic stuck in the final opening that acted like a spinning gate. It would allow fluid though all day and clog with shit/paper. Do the Darko option and remove and replace wax ring. I took mine outside and blasted hose though the whole thing.

Ditto: For us it was a comb that must have fallen off the top of the tank.

I'll agree that this is likely an easy fix, BUT if you are not capable, go for the pro, it may be cheaper in the long run. I helped my plumber cousin at times, he had a camera to diagnose the mentioned problems. DON'T use any chemicals for your safety and a plumber's.

Ditto the cheap toilet designs. I used a Gerber to replace the cheaper model in our main bath, designed with the flush hole at the bottom of the bowl, acts like a commercial toilet and still low water use!

Anyone have any suggestions to help. I have a toliet that I cannot seem to get completely unclogged. I have tried baking soda/vinegar. I have used a plunger. I have used liquid plumber. After all of that it is a little better. It will flush and eventually all go down. But it takes awhile.

I am sure this thread will showcase some of the good and bad humor of the board, but I am desperate. Been messing with this thing for 2 days now.

Hot water. Boiling hot water.

Also put some dishwasher crystals in there and they can begin to work their way through.

Don't use boiling water. It damages the wax ring. Do what Darkside said.

NO.

These have been around for quite a while now. Easier and more effective then the old wax seal.

Plungers suck (most toilets have a groove at the bottom which won't allow for a good seal anyway). Get one of these (like $10 at Home Depot):

Works like a charm (unless the clog is WAY downstream)...
