If a cat could actually think, (and they can't) I'm sure they would ask themselves "WTF is with the people trying to make me more like them?"

You are of the opinion cats and dogs can't think?

Cats and dogs do not have a rational mind.

Apply that to this thread where you will.

yeah they do, brah! rationality means goal-oriented behavior. it's built in!

if you mean logic or some other human creation, then yeah, you're right. some of that can be taught, though.

I'm comforted by the fact that at least one person acknowledges the human ability for logic that animals do not possess.

Yeah, same deal. A labradoodle. they have tight curly hair and don't shed. kinda small and a little expensive.

My wife and I have a goldendoodle. Great dog. Doesn't shed, good with kids. I have pet allergies and have never had problems with her.

Nice.....good to hear this.....was the dog healthy? I know some individuals from breeds like that can get sick while young...

Cats and dogs do not have a rational mind.

Apply that to this thread where you will.

There's been all sorts of studies (no I'm not pulling the links up for you) about the problem solving abilities of cats and the social intelligence of dogs. Is this a bible thing? I'm confused. Animals can think and feel. I thought that was common knowledge.

Yes, you are confused.

The ability to train an animal does not take rationality or logic. Nor does what you refer to as "social intelligence."

This was once common knowledge.

Yep, perfectly healthy dog. Going on 3 years old. She is a mini goldendoodle, so only about 25 lbs. or so.

So Seacrest's big point here was that animals don't have the same brains as humans do? Great point!

Yes, it takes a true scholar to determine that humans have the most cognitive ability of any animal.

I don't think anyone even came close to equating the intelligence of animals to humans before SC brought it up.

I personify my dog, sometimes internalizing/verbalizing what I imagine he thinks or would say if he had more developed cognitive abilities ("Hooman..." kind of stuff).

I suppose that makes me a "pet person'...and in the abstract such behavior is rather odd.

Yeah, I'm not the one that brought it up. But hey, accuracy isn't important here.

I realize I may sound like a dog "homer," but you are correct, and we continue to learn more about dogs in particular all the time. I just read a book last year called "Inside of a Dog". It was written by an animal behaviorist at U of Michigan? I could have the school wrong. Very interesting stuff, and she goes to great lengths not to anthropomorphize the dogs and view how they behave objectively.

Seacrest is doing his thing where he says something, and then claims he didn't say it, and then fails to explain what he said.

Just leave him be...

No, that's exactly the point you were making. Except as usual, you clouded it in a bunch of bullshit meaningless terms to obfuscate your point because it was dipshit obvious point.

I have that voice too. Glad I'm not the only one.

They aren't as intelligent and are't logical but they do communicate and pick up on things. My dog is pretty in tune with our house, family, and things.

I quoted another poster. Or did you miss that too?

My point, lost on only you apparently, is that dressing up animals and treating them like they are like us is odd. I stated that much.

I occasionally read what you post. That you find the word "logic" to be be "meaningless" is no surprise either.
