I have not "dismissed" racism. I just don't believe that racism is the cause of police shootings. I tend to view history more from an economic viewpoint. The idea that people are mostly motivated by self-interest. I don't think that it's in anyone's self-interest to shoot someone and create an investigation/potentially be fired.

I do think that there is racist policing in targeting black people for fines/arrests because there is an economic motivation to hit quotas, and the cops don't think that black people in certain neighborhoods have the means to fight back. I think the shootings are because the cops are trigger happy or too nervous to be on the streets.

This will be the American Historikerstreit.

I will. i think he'd be probably a little worse than obama has been but not that far off. but success and failure are very different a long the political spectrum.
