That and not Kerry Wood his shoulder. If he MadBum's the post season how much is he worth. In theory being able to half ass the regular sedason with an ERA about 3, is 18-7. Then decides to turn it on, and demolish their arch rival in crunch time.

Yeah, I would take him cruising through the season if it meant a 3 ERA and then devastating teams in the postseason. I don't need him to win 20+ every year. Just save it for October.

Since July 1 (11 starts, one third of a season), Arrieta has had pretty much the second best stretch of his career, with a 1.69 ERA, .568 OPS against (only 5 HR given up in 69 1/3 innings), 3:1 K/BB, 0.955 WHIP and since JORR / Frank / FF can't understand any of that, a 7-2 record.

Dominant.

edit: He now has the 7th best ERA in the National League.
