I feel bad for this kid and his family. I think he leaves a pregnant girlfriend behind. Just awful.

But the cancellation of the game is just another example of the game being more about the comfort of the players than any regard for the paying customers. The players are quick to spout platitudes when the tired cliche' supports their interests, like, "it's just business." But when it goes the other way, fuck the fan. What about, "the show must go on?" There's probably some guy out there who planned his whole month around taking his kid to that game. Now that child can't smell the grass and that helps Jose' Fernandez how?

This is a pretty awful story to read first thing in the morning. I feel almost as uncomfortable when I woke up and saw my guy adenhart was killed in a car crash.

oh and the story about the cubs being interested have been around for a few weeks.
