Gloves?

I don't know how you can clearly see anything. I'm also watching with no sound.

Well, whether he had a gun or not, he definitely wasn't pointing it at anyone. Didn't seem threatening to me. Not sure why they shot him. Unless it's procedure to shoot anyone with a gun.

If the glove doesn't fit, you must... blow his brains out and lawyer up.

Yeah it's conclusive to me that he wasn't posing a threat.

Isn't NC a conceal-carry state?

Will there be NRA protests?

The NRA is a close second to pharmaceuticals in the disingenuous lobby hall of fame.

IF he was legally armed this still wouldn't be a case that the NRA gets involved in. Politically it's a loser for them.

If he was armed to the teeth with explosives, an AK-47, molotov cocktails, and he rolled around in gasoline and then gunpowder that were all legally purchased, this still wouldn't be a case the NRA got involved in.

It's funny that the NRA says everybody is safer when carrying a gun. When the cops even think you have a gun, they pump you full of lead.

It depends on how you're acting with that gun....and your race.

It's an open carry state, actually of the worst kind, in that open carrying isn't specifically pro nor prescribed by state law. Some local ordinances restrict open carry, and it is still up for debate whether they jibe with other state laws.

Though, even if you are lawfully carrying a firearm, when the police happen upon you and order you to drop the gun, the legality of such an order is dubious (to me). However it still might be an order the police reasonably considered lawful, and one which wasn't ostensibly followed, and when you have someone carrying a firearm that won't follow (what you consider) lawful orders, this is likely the result.

This is the part that I don't understand with some that I work with. Yes, you're within your rights to not disclose your legal firearm. Perhaps you do not need to disarm when confronted by law enforcement, but common sense says to comply. Why create a potentially deadly situation? If your rights are violated, comply, then file your complaint. Or, take your righteous stand and potentially die. I'm not saying that outcome is just, it's just more likely when dealing with officers who deal with "bad" guys with guns most often. I assume that for a cop, you see a gun, you want it neutralized for your own safety, be it "good" or "bad."

The police were not throwing guns on the ground in that video. Clearly, they did not care about the well being of man.

Yes, he had been charged with numerous offenses, including assault with deadly weapon and other gun offenses.

The gun in question is under the officer in red. He's standing over it - I would think that he's trying to secure it. They're putting on gloves that dropped to the ground. Even if they did reach for something, it could have been possible that the gun was underneath his body and they moved it out from under him to remove the risk of the body rolling over it. I'm sure they would want to get the firearm secured and away from any situation where it could go off. Regardless, I think the gun is in between the guy in red's feet the whole time.

Yeah, but in one of the recent shootings didn't the victim advise the cop that he had a gun in the car and that was the excuse for shooting the guy?

I believe so, but didn't he "make a move" or something like that which is what freaked out the cops? Tell them you have the gun and leave your hands outside the car through the window so they can be seen.

The guy in Minnesota allegedly told the cops and went to show the cop his gun I believe. Not the smartest thing to do.

According to the people who saw this video Keith Scott was backing up. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I'm not sure what he was saying but he didn't appear to be a threat. Based on the cops view of him I'm not sure what they saw.
