That's as close as Tommy Kahnle will ever get to having a clean inning.

I actually tried to DVR this game, but we didn't have room, so just saw the home run....a bomb indeed. I get it that old Comiskey was a cavernous place, but it still boggles my mind how no Sox player hit 40 until Frank did it in '93.

Rodon's throwing the hell out of it today. Getting a little help from the ump but still throwing it good.

Dominating outing by Rodon. Great to see him work 8 innings. This is a nice outing to build on for next season.

He sure finished the year strong, huh? That was pretty to watch.

Going into the off season with 3 great to good starters and an innings eater.

I don't think you can dismiss their top 3 pitchers. Rodon is still getting better.

Deceiving. The strikezone was as big as the side of a barn. Shields may have thrown a no-hitter if he had been pitching.

I love the Sox. But I'm realistic.

It was a good outing by Rodon. If you didn't watch the game and just saw the box score you'd think it was great. I did watch the game and I saw batter after batter walk out of the box rolling his eyes and shaking his head as Miller called strikes that were about a foot and a half out of a normal strikezone.

I didn't watch the game but it feels like you rag on the Sox a lot.

He did get a lot of help from the ump. But even if they have three good starters, they just have too many holes to fill in the field. Too many easy outs.

They have players that are. They have 3 pitchers you can win a playoff series with.

It's a helluva thing.

Well, one hitter can make a big difference to a lineup if it's the right guy in the right place. You can see over the past two seasons that the Mets are completely different teams with and without Cespedes in the lineup. I don't think the Sox are far away from being good. I'm just not convinced they know what moves to make.

The Sox just can't seem to land such a player (though I think they'll need more). They had a shot at Dexter Fowler but f'd it up. They need a bullpen, too.

Jesus, this debate is nuts. (The Presidential one.)

This is their bigger problem making the moves. Total shitcanning is in order.

Offensive juggernaut. That's what this team is (depending on the way you pronounce "offensive," of course).

Team defense fell apart after Austin Jackson went down. Albers fell to pieces, and Jones had a lot of terrible luck. Blown saves and shitty defense brought them back to earth. Then the offense did it's work to make them a below .500 team.

If they had actually gone for it this year and signed Ian Desmond and Dexter Fowler they would be looking at a wild card. Of course if they signed those guys they would have broken their legs or somehow forgot how to hit. Curse of Carl Everett.

Don't worry, Kenny will pick him back up in about 5 years.
