Interesting, this Bridgeport is apparently a little bit of Dixie in Michigan--runs south of east Saginaw--Mark Macon, Jason Richardson, KDdidit Martin, the Williams Sisters, Draymond Green all from that area; not Bridgeport, but Buena Vista/Saginaw and the areas immediately north/west of Bridgeport. Good fish places if you go north on the Dixie Highway (main drag in Bridgeport, lotta bars in Bridgeport). Once you cross into either Buena Vista Twp or maybe it's Saginaw proper (not sure what the deal is with that), the road changes to Genessee and there are fish places galore. Arthur's and King's Fish are the two I've tried. Arthur's fried green tomatoes are juicy and Lay's chips addicting. I think the King's guy might be from Chicago. Or Arkansas.

Dekalb does have a strong football program now. I always wondered how that shit sandwich team all of the sudden became really good in the last 5-10 years.

I used to message-board with a guy from Saginaw circa 2004-2007. Big Cubs fan, but had the same constant sense of dread that I've developed with the Hawks. Probably one of the most joyless, uptight people I've ever interacted with. What I remember about him most was an argument he had with someone else about putting posters on walls and whether it was required to frame them first in order to be taken seriously. Surprisingly, the argument remained binary and never introduced the possibility that dudes who hang posters all over their walls shouldn't be taken seriously whether they're framed or not.
