The 3 executive amigos have signed long extensions with the Cubs. Bernstein is as giddy as a school girl in love for the first time. So is Larry, but he always behaves like a school girl.

Bernstein: This is so awesome. I'm sooooooo excited.

Remember when Dan said Wrigley was a dump and they should move to the suburbs? Now he says Wrigley is beautiful. But it really is the same dump with a few more bathrooms.

(sigh) All I'm going to say on the matter is that in the...(sigh) in the intervening years, the Cubs organization has not been the...the restricted place it once was, and that by opening themselves up to (sigh)...to...more cerebral sensibilities than previous ownership may have been amenable to in the past, the Cubs have...have allowed themselves to reap the benefits of revenue streams and marketing concepts that...that a (sigh) self-limiting sample size of the past either wouldn't embrace or didn't know how to embrace, and now that prior ownership groups aren't there to be...well, to be selective to a fault in who they hired, the Cubs have finally become the business they've needed to be, and, really, in a lot of ways, were afraid to be.
