Great flick. Simple and effective with some crazy turns. Great acting, too... about halfway through the movie, I thought "I don't know if my nerves can take another hour of this shit"... but the story turns and there are some nice surprises. The fact that the guy is blind is a great addition... something about it makes him more menacing.

Almost makes up for my disappointment in Blair Witch.

THIS was a great thriller. Not everyone's cup of tea though, if you follow reviews. We saw this a month ago, and I loved how the story just kept getting more and more layered throughout the film. A couple twists towards the middle and end. Also, like LYK said the acting is great.

Fede Alvarez also directed the Evil Dead reboot, and I have to say he has superior talent when it comes to pacing. He does not let up once the tension/action starts in either movie.

Jane Levy is excellent again as the frightened anti-hero. Stephen Lang steals the movie with his haunting, and tormented turn as a blind gulf war vet.

Worth the price of admission of you like tension, and can appreciate a well done low budget movie.

Stephen Lang = criminally underrated

just watched this to cap off another halloween season. it was on demand for starz. i agree, this was fantastic. suspend disbelief a few times (punching a dog?) and this is really an effective horror thriller. i also liked how just when it seemed to get a little too predictable, a monkey wrench is thrown in. the ending was nice too.

kinda funny to see the kid from "13 reasons why" play basically the same role, predating the show. i almost expected him to put on a pair of headphones at some point.

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D
