Oh, later on it was said that the Bears should have cleaned house and made Theo their president.

I have no idea why people shoot so low. I think Trump and Hillary should cede and Theo should be president of everything

A friend who is a Cub fan sent me this article, ostensibly to show me how "cool" Theo is:

http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/ ... ubs-season

To me the guy just sounds like a fucking tool, a forty year old frat boy. But he sure knows how to waste Ricketts' money on expensive toys. I'm sure Old Joe is popping a vein in his neck when he reads that his $50 million employee is sitting around figuring out how to spend more of his money on basketball hoops and couches so his other employees can play and sit around on his dime.

This morning, I heard Dustin Rhodes saying how the Bears should have fired their entire management personnel yesterday, and bring in Theo at $12 MM per.

He was also furious that (presumably) the Cubs would not hold Theo, Jed, and what'shisname to their 5-year deals. He said the Score wouldn't be so accommodating. God, I hate myself for listening.

I have a few more days and then will cease any kind of negative posting towards your team until the end of the baseball year.

Theo would build up the Bears' minor league system in no time.

If this thread had any more salt, Mormons would start to settle in it.

Belichick isn't in Theo's league.

This is true as his team has played in MANY Super Bowls.

ya, Theo sucks! I wish Rickett's would have just put out a release that said, we'd like to have him back, but it's up to him.

Go Cubs!

Doubtful. I think Old Joe is more interested in how "President Trump" will help him get rid of the "brown people" and the rest of his undesirables.

I'm thinking Big daddy ricketts told his numb nuts son, " I bought this team for 850 million and can sell it for 2.5 billion 6 years later. If Epstein walks, I'm selling the team"

I doubt that. I'd say Old Joe is looking at the bottom line. There may actually be more money in losing than winning for a team like the Cubs. I don't know. And yeah, the franchise has a theoretical value of over $2 billion, but you have to find an actual buyer willing to pay that who is also acceptable to the other owners. It's not really that easy.

I didn't say it...I wrote it. It was facetious. So what is the point of the thread? Just the "over-the-top" hype of Theo? I get that to a large degree...but the dude helped Boston win two world series titles after not winning shit for almost a century. He has the Cubs in the playoffs again with a young team that looks like it could be a playoff contender and consistent winner for the next several years. If the Cubs were to win a WS in his tenure,....that certainly would elevate him to an elite status wouldn't it?? I honestly don't care. I'm really glad the Cubs have him...glad he is signed for 5 more years, and more than anything, just would like to see the Cubs win it all. We'll see what happens.

Go Cubs!

I'm not sure why the title contains the word "Sports" or why dolphin misspelled "The World."

Theo has done a very good job overall. His signings of Edwin Jackson and Jason Heyward are moves I strongly disagreed with and have proven so far to be mistakes. But his good draft selections and trades greatly outweigh the mistakes. I'm glad he was signed to the extension and will be able to continue running the team. Having 2 titles in Boston already, when the Cubs win multiple titles under his direction, the title of best sports executive in North America will have been earned.

Think about that for a while in the context of the three teams that have dominated the AFC in football, a sport with annual employee turnover of 33%.

Something about Epstein rubs me the wrong way, but no one has gotten more out of their opportunities than him.

It's like his management style and life philosophies came out of the Bro Bible.

OK.
