I thought that was an issue, because the entire town was below sea level.

Wasn't Katrina a Cat 3? I thought the trouble was due mostly to the levees breaking.

Hugo was a Cat 4 and leveled SC.

Katrina was a Cat 5 at its strongest. I don't remember if it was a 4 or 5 when it hit Nawlins.

The worst is yet to come overall. I am reading that because of the track of the storm, its going to push MANY millions of gallons of saltwater up the coast and into north Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. 7-11' of storm surge, which means if somebody is trying to ride it out in a one story building, they will need to get onto their roof to breathe.
