THANKS OBAMA

but let me just say this. I didnt own this, my name is just on it, i let them use my name, not for a lot of money either but i did, because it was the best mahal, it was the 8th wonder of the world, but the people i sold it to are just trying to ruin my name so they fired 3,000 people and shut the place down. 3,000 people died in 9/11 so its pretty much the same thing. i wasnt going to say this but i will say it, i originally named it after the great taj gibson of the chicago bulls. the best bull. hillary is the devil. we need law and order.

Hopefully Trump's run for presidency won't affect his hotels around the world. A good friend of mine is his #1 guy in charge at the Chicago hotel and also has the job of going to where ever he is building a new hotel and staying there for a couple years to over see the project.

It is shocking that a business in Atlantic City would fail. Everything else is going so great there.

I stayed at Trump Vegas with the family and it was probably the best hotel experience I've had in my life. Maybe business was slow (due to silent boycotts?) but they upgraded me to the "$2500 per night" penthouse for an extra $150 (added to the $89 rate I got through Hotwire). It was unbelievable. Also was comical how Trump had his name plastered on everything, including the bottled water.

I wonder how the hotel is doing financially. For a family it's actually nice because there is no casino (though you are steps from a million other nice ones like the Wynn) so you don't have to walk a mile through a casino to get to your room.

Carl Ichan has owned the Trump Taj Mahal since it exited bankruptcy in February of 2016.

Atlantic City is dead, horse tracks have gambling and there are too many other, nicer, options.

MANY people familiar with Trump's casino dealings have suggested that he didn't have a clue about how to run a Casino. He had a bunch of stupid ideas that were also rather costly. I guess you can do that when you know that the shareholders are the ones that will be stuck with the liability. Damn scumbag.

He's a lot of pomp and circumstance but, in reality, he owned a small stake in the casino since 2008 or 2009. Hasn't had anything to do with it in about 6-7 years. Carl Ichan (another piece of predatory shit) and his holding corporation has had control for a long while.

Atlantic City is dead. Dust in the wind.

Just dust in the wind.

Now that Beth Bernstein has announced she will no longer do business there I'm sure its demise is right around the corner

Always wondered why someone would stay there. It's all the way at the end but doesn't have the goods of Wynn/Encore/Palazzo (yea, sure you can walk to those places). Perks like that will do it.

I just hope Trump settles down a bit and pulls back the reigns a tad. I would hate to one day have to tell people that I got married at the modern day equivalent to a Hitler banquet hall in Berlin back in the 30s.

i remember the first time i went to atlantic city, back in the early 90's. AC, LV and Reno/Tahoe were pretty much the only choices you had at that time. but even then i remember getting there and being wildly disappointed in the area, it was not a pleasant place to be. it had none of the glitz and glamour of vegas and seemed like i was surrounded by down and out degenerate gamblers (who probably thought the same of me). i remember being glad when it was time to go. they had bad blackjack rules too. There were a lot of big hotels and casinos there still, but from what i have seen recently i cant think of any reason i would ever go back. The Jersey Shore is a lot of fun in a lot of places, but that town seemed to have a black cloud of despair over it whereas Vegas at least blinded you with false hope. I specifically remember not being at all impressed with the Taj Mahal.

AC is like trying to put a small Vegas in Joliet.

Had some business to do regarding hotel/condo property there awhile back. Questions about the concept of such aside, I will admit that it is a beautiful place with good service for what I saw, but it was something of a bizarre experience. The place feels like an armed camp, with mini Secret Service agents crawling all over the place.

The "guests" were another matter. Seemingly unclean, uncouth rubes with an air of entitlement and head lice. Bare footed rubes putting their f-ing feet on everything in sight. JORR would've been appalled.

Anytime I see unclean looking people in inappropriate places(esp. w/bare feet or with rolls of fat exposed) I assume the worst.

Riding the Red Line L a couple of weeks ago, I worried about tuberculosis from a person continually hacking
& coughing, I've grown a bit germ phobic.

I feel like I'm getting a little bit out of touch because I HATE riding the red line and dealing with the usual things you encounter. It used to be entertaining.

I'm on it once a week, the entertainment aspect wore off quickly, especially with all the folks that invite you into their mundane worlds via loud phone calls. I guess I'm getting older faster than I thought
