I think what CH does is some sort of nervous thing... like a superstition.

I'll give you a real answer then because I respect you.

The Cubs have, by some accounts, the greatest pitching staff in the last 50 years. So, that pitching staff is dominating as you would expect in the playoffs. It isn't sample size. It is the fact that the Cubs have, by some accounts, the greatest pitching staff in the last 50 years.

I agree and have said as much. You know I've never said it's a crapshoot. There is most definitely a premium on top end starting pitching in the playoffs... and pitching in general. 100% agreement.

Jimmy and hockey are true fans. CH is not. Big difference

I go back to I have a feeling that winning won't feel as good as losing has felt bad over these years.

I'm pretty emotionally dead at this point. I'm watching every game and hoping they win but, if they end up losing this series, I don't think I'd feel much of anything about it.

I'm the opposite. I'll be happy either way.

It's heartbreaking that the Cubs have done this to you.

Every other post of mine is saying how they're going to lose. Sure, there's some alcohol that gets mixed in and I throw in an optimistic post occasionally.

Not saying Heyward makes any of those catches, but if you're not going to bring him into RF late in the game, what the fuck good is he?

Once players are taken out of the game, they cannot be brought back in. Pesky new MLB rule.

While that is a new term I'm going to use at some point in my sports discussion life, I'd have to say most Cubs fans on this board don't fit that description.

I'm objective.

It just happens to look optimistic as it relates to this current Cubs dynasty simply because they are so damn better than everyone else.

Lol...why didn't he stay in the game after pinch hitting?

Lol...why didn't he stay in the game after pinch hitting?

He did. For one inning. Then Maddon's creativity required he leave via double switch since he ended the previous half inning.

I said yesterday before the game that the Cubs' alignment in the outfield would be a downfall, and it was. Heyward needed to be in there as much as possible, and Almora could have played left or center.

Has Maddon been batting the pitcher 8th? This may be what is needed to get them over the top.

So if Lackey gets into trouble early, will Joe bring in Hendricks?

OK, I've had some coffee and am ready to FOCUS.

Horseface is going to come out tonight neighing and whinnying like Secretariat at Belmont. Giants are going to be scared.
