He did fuck up one play I can remember...on the Crawford bomb that missed being a homer by 2 inches, he had Pence nailed at third if he doesn't muff the relay.

Well...Zobrist anywhere makes things interesting. I know everything is under a microscope...but Zobrist scared me on a few routine outfield catches in Games 3 and 4. Yesterday, there was a fly hit deep to the left field corner and he had to adjust his glove like 1.5 feet right before he caught it above his head....with two hands...he almost missed it.

I didn't notice it last night, maybe it's just the camera angle, but that throw takes a weird hop toward RF.

I didn't think it was the amazing tag that they were making it out to be last night, thought it was a tremendous throw. Looking at that, I'm on board with both.

Cool moment between Baez and Span on the Span hit. That was an unbelievable play.

Disagree. Keep in mind that the lead leg of Span "slows down" due to contact from Baez.

If that throw takes the hop directly toward the bag, Span's foot beats the throw.

A missile to the bag that doesn't hop might get him.

I don't think most 2nd baseman stick their wrist into that position for fear of injury. That could have turned out real bad for Baez and Cubs fans. The kid is fearless. Hopefully that trickles down to the rest of the lineup going forward.

It looked like the wrist was stretched back some on the tag, and yes I saw him checking it out in between plays as well. I bet it's sore for a day or two after the adrenaline from last night has worn off.

I bet you are right on it kicking off to the right. That would explain his late reaction in moving to the ball.
