The one time Elmhurst Steve doesn't make an obvious prediction and he ends up going with Almora = Mike Trout?

DEFENSIVELY .......lets not stretch this into Almora is the equal of Trout all around. I think Almora will be a decent hitter with a little pop, but nowhere near Trout offensively.

Uhh....Mike Trout isn't even a star defensively. Yes, he has robbed some HR...but his range and arm are below average.

If Almora only has Mike Trout level defense and the bat we expect him to have (.750 OPS?)... he certainly isn't a starter.

He will start in CF next season and win a gold glove. He will be a rookie of the year finalist as well.

I heard Fowler wants to re-sign with the Cubs for 5 years / $40M because he loves it here so much.

I believe you may be making that up, but if it were true, the Cubs would have a dilemma because he has done such a good job as a leadoff hitter, with his OBP. I think it would be a mistake, in that Almora is a better defensive outfielder and would save them millions they might use for other needs.

The only game they lost this series was the one in which Heyward was on the bench. He may not be able to get the ball out of the infield but he is somehow important to the makeup of the team. They win when he plays. Unless Soler goes on a hr binge just go with it.

Heyward has been mostly awful and the fact they lost a game Heyward was benched for is coincidental. The idea that his defense is vital is ridiculous. When was the last time he made a play in the field that Sczcur or even Zobrist would not have been able to make? His defense is overrated and his offense is pathetic.

It is only overrated by those trying to justify his stupid acquisition and contract.
