So, the CEO of Wells Fargo oversees appallingly unethical behavior that negatively impacted millions of Americans, and he "makes the decision" to retire. Are you fucking kidding me? He is guilty of at least one of two things:

1. He's a crooked fuck who was complicit in this illegal nonsense or...

2. He's a weak ass leader who never, ever, ever should have been in charge of a Fortune 500 Company and wasn't competent enough or strong enough to stop these activities.

If the former is true, he should be in jail. If the latter is true, he should never have been in a position to earn 41 MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS IN ONE YEAR.

Now, he is of course a great guy because he forfeited his last year's earnings, but I assume he managed to hang onto the tens of millions he earned previously. And now he'll get to pass that money on to his presumably ignorant, lazy, silver spoon children while there are hard-working, honest people who can't pay the utilities for their roach-infested apartment.

Now, I know many will say "Leash, this is just crony capitalism. True capitalism would allow for a private tribunal system to really sock it to him." Nonsense. This guy should be criminally prosecuted or thrown in the street while the honest tax payers stone him to death with rolled up pieces of his 2015 CEO of the year award.

Agreed. Tell me why it would be better for things like this. I mean that genuinely... not being sarcastic. Lastly, kill yourself (also genuine).

True capitalism is something, much like true socialism or true Marxism/Communism(not exactly the same thing) that is left for the text books and academics.

Wells Fargo is corporate malfeasance and criminal behavior. Prosectution doesn't hinge on whether we practice capitalism or not. Wells Fargo will survive, even in the event of another collapse because it's systemically important and, according to Dodd-Frank, must survive by any means necessary.

Plus, where else are people going to go? Regional and local banking were murdered (on purpose) a decade or so ago.

The Showtime original series, "Billions", should be mandatory viewing.

It depicts all this garbage and the illegal, hypocritical and immoral people involved.

I would never murder Denis.

SG, how would a completely free market guard against such things? Again, not a cynical question. I'd like to hear what you think. Also, throw yourself into a tractor PTO.

Those things are no joke.

I saw a guy lean over one once and the string from the hood of his coveralls touched it, it immediately ripped all the clothes off the dude and almost killed him. Couple broken arms (probably 2), broken ribs, I think it broke his hip.

I thought he was dead.

In all seriousness, it's nasty. I actually know people who have died.

That's why I recommended it for SomeGuy.

stop being a simple minded little bitch. true capitalism sucks. its another term for Darwinism. sounds great- let the fittest win... until you realize your sibling was born with a setback they couldn't prevent.

america is as close to true capitalism as there is anywhere else on earth. but we have in the past worked towards a mixture of socialism. it was called the 50's. when the middle class was strong and most people were pretty happy. definitely not perfect, especially if you were the wrong color, but if we could implement our modern social standards along with our previous economic guidelines we could have a cozy little life on our hands.

but, in any case, quitcher bitchin.. because we are a far cry from syria, or dozens of other regions on earth. and that means we are doing pretty good, because mother nature does operate on Darwinism, whether you like it or not.

No.

The 1950's were great for the middle class because.....look at the state of the world at that time add in a massive demographic boost and almost 5 years of ration based pent-up demand and that's why the middle class was having such a time of strength.

Wells Fargo is a true scumbag outfit. I have an associate who had a significant business loan with them that was backed by a large amount of stock in a company I won't mention. Naturally, Wells Fargo wanted the value of the stock to represent a certain value above the amount of the loan, I don't remember if it was 125%, 150%, whatever. At some point the company in question had some issues and the stock price tumbled. Wells Fargo called the loan. My guy's right hand man had a discussion with their man at Wells Fargo and asked him to give them a few days to move some things around and collateralize the loan to Wells Fargo's satisfaction. The Wells Fargo rep agreed. The next day they looked at the account and Wells Fargo had sold all the stock at a discount price and paid off the loan. Fucking scumbags.

It depends on what you mean by scumbags. I'm not gonna rake somebody for operating within a system that we have all agreed to. By the same token, when you see people screaming in the streets protesting economic conditions, it's clear they're no longer in agreement. I don't see how anyone could be angry about that from a moral standpoint.

Only in a Someguy post will you get 3 statements which are inherently contradictory.

1. True capitalism doesn't exist on earth.

2. There was rationing during the 40's

3. The 50's were not an example of a mixed economy.

In his not so infinite wisdom he probably won't see the contradiction in those statements.

leash hit on the big problem here which is the lack of government action to punish people like this. Capitalism is fine. Our government not enforcing order is.

They almost broke up Microsoft because they were too powerful because most people used their operating system and yet Wells Fargo does stuff like this and it's basically like "Well, that was bad but you retired so cool".

Let's see....

1) True
2.)True
3.)True.
4.) Go fuck yourself.
5.) Define "mixed" economy.

By the way, LTG shouldn't be upset about Wells Fargo or any other banking shenanigans, this is exactly the type of stuff he said he loves and that was great for our economy and middle class.

You cant make this stuff up, folks.

You are right but I do not know why this is. My first assumption is because the government will somehow receive a big fine. Uneven enforcement is terrible and affects all of us. CEO or politician do what you want and say sorry. Martha Stewart lying or you skimming a bit on the IRS and off to jail with you.
