No, that is not true.

We just don't have to act like The Beatles are the reason that music exists today. They did some great stuff for the time period they were in and were the first to do things that were pretty cool. If the Beatles were coming of age today they would not be inventing all sorts of new things having to do with music because it isn't the beginning of the style and there really isn't that much left to invent.

It would be like if today we acted not only was Issac Newton a great scientist for his time but also that he is a great scientist compared to the people that are the elites of science now. That is obviously not true.
